I was planing on seeing a Taylor Swift concert this coming spring when she comes back to the United States, after she toured in Australia and Japan. Little did i know, if i didn't get my tickets within the first hour of them being on sale then you were S.O.L.
The tickets to the Prudential Center for both May 12th and May 13th were sold out in under 15 minutes. The Prudential Center in Newark NJ has 18,000 seats for a concert. So that means in under 15 minutes, 36,000 seats were sold on the day the tickets when on sale.
I almost wish she wasn't so popular so i could go to her show. Now the tickets to her shows range from 117$ to 2,300$. Of course the cheaper amount is for the seats all the way in the back where you need binoculars to see and the higher amount is for the good seats in the front of the venue. I don't know anyone that has 2,300 dollars for one night and one ticket.
I don't think its fair that people go out and buy like 10 tickets for only 200 dollars then wait for them to be sold out. Then they get to sell them on Ebay for 2,000 dollars each. Its a crazy price for something like that. You would think that people would let others go and enjoy themselves at the concerts but no.
This recently happened to a group of friends and I when we went to a Lady GaGa concert on January 24th. The tickets were extremely expensive originally then when people go out and buy a million tickets then sell them for top dollar you find yourself paying a lot of money. I think this should be illegal for people to sell tickets like this. Let the people enjoy the concert, and the venue get the benefits.
